Freedom Trains 250 - celebrating the US semiquincentennial in 2026

America didn’t have a single railroad in 1776. No steam whistles. No gleaming locomotives roaring across the landscape. Fast-forward 250 years, and the country is celebrating that rebellious birthday the most American way possible. From coast to coast, railroads have gone all in for the anniversary festivities. Locomotives have traded plain paint for bold, colorful designs splashed with stars, stripes, eagles, and enough patriotic flair to make Uncle Sam grin.
